Mark Oetjens has decided to put the prequel to The Staff of Rahgorra on hold for the time being. The working title for the prequel novel is The Girl (although this is truly a working title and will almost certainly change by the time of publication). Set some twenty years before the events of The Staff of Rahgorra, The Girl will tell the story of Cam, Tetsuko and the rest of their Dark Forces team and their role in an attempted military coup against the Hamm Yur government, the first in a series of events that will ultimately lead to Bodkin’s transformation into Thrull. It will also reveal the true role and internal structure of the Galactic Security Bureau.
